I was surprised at how much repetitive material there was in here, like each chapter had no knowledge of the others and was fine repeating various ideas. As a cohesive book, it was okay. Maybe kind of rough.

But it was Brian Doyle writing about words and life, and after Martin Marten Iā€™m interested in reading anything else Mr. Doyle wrote. His love of reading and storytelling and sense of humor are infectious.

I enjoyed reading this and piled a few more books onto my reading list as a result.
